Only a little spook this October!

While just about everyone else but me loves the spooky season, I’ve never been one to celebrate it. Top it off with the fact that I can’t stand horror movies and I’m scared of the dark and you have someone who doesn’t look at her October TBR much differently from any other month.

In fact, this year is the only year thus far in my 20 years of what we call life, that I am participating in Halloween; two events to be exact, and I am so freaking excited! I am going to a Spooky Theme Park in my city as well as a house party, both of which I am dressing up for *heart eyes*. I will be posting my outfits on my bookstagram @thebookishbree so look out for those posts.

So in honour of my first year of celebrating Halloween, I’ve made my October TBR as spooky as it can get, with the exception that I am not planning to read a 500-page novel (because exams).

OCTOBER TBR:

WHAT THE WOODS KEEP by Katya de Becerra

• • Katya is a lecturer at Swinburne University and a lot of her work focuses on plants (I forgot the technical name for her studies…)
  • She is a Russian-born Australian
  • This novel is perfectly written, I feel like my third eye has been opened

Frankly in love by David Yoon

• • Nicola Yoon’s husband
  • This novel is @TheYARoom‘s book of the month for October
  • Fake Dating Trope!!!

  • Australian Author!
  • Debut Novel!

Those as the novels I’m planning to read in the month of October. I hope I can make it through all 3 because then I’ll be on track with my Goodreads Reading goal and make it to 30 books by the end of 2019!
