Earlier this month (or it could’ve been last month), I made a post where I listed which books I hoped to purchase in the month of March; and I am proud to say that I purchased 6 out of those 9 books AND MORE!
March was a fun ass month! There were multiple book events that took place, as well as the Fall Out Boy concert and Melbourne Comedy Festival (which runs until mid-April).
The two book events I attended were the Tin Heart book launch and Obsidio book launch, and at both events I got all flustered and awkward when talking to the authors. Sooo embarrassing!
Okay so long story short, I was sick on the day of the Tin Heart Book Launch, rocked up at Dymocks in the city – which is literally heaven in the form of a book store – and picked up 6 of the 9 books I had listed in my March Books to buy post plus one more which was recommended to me by Shivaun Plozza on twitter.
Books: Scythe by Neil Schusterman, Untidy Towns by Kate O’Donnell (recommended by Shivaun Plozza), Frankie & Tin Heart by Shivaun Plozza, The Wren Hunt by Mary Watson, Ida by Alison Evans, White Night by Ellie Marney (because I missed the launch).
I also purchased both Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, and Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman at the Obsidio Launch where I had them signed and personalised.
Books Sent to Me!
I was also sent a book from Bloomsbury this month!
I received Piecing Me Together by Renée Watson which is a Middle Grade novel that I’ve seen a lot of hype about mainly on BookTube because of its diversity.
I’m really keen to dive into this one as I am unsure of what it is about, choosing like always to go in blind.
Books I read!
I read and reviewed 2 books this month; Warcross by Marie Lu, and Face by Benjamin Zephaniah. I did start reading Reign The Earth (ARC) by A.C. Gaughen but am not even close to the middle yet.
You can view the Warcross Review, and Face Review by clicking on the names in this post.
StoryTime Wednesday Revamp!
There’s this little idea I had a while ago to post stories on Wednesdays related to books, but that didn’t happen properly until two weeks ago. I have started to actually post short stories! There are 2 stories already posted; Long Legs Flies, and Dissociation.
You can read the stories by clicking the link to the story you want to read above! I hope you like them, and I promise my writing will improve as the weeks progress. These stories are practice for the book I’m actually writing titled The Inversion!
Stay Happy, Healthy, and have a Lovely Week!!
Thank You so much for reading! I hope to see you all back here on Monday 🙂
