Heyo Bookaholics!
These updates are so much fun!
I’m doing NaNoWriMo this month again! If you are new here and haven’t seen my previous NaNoWriMo posts, you can find them linked below, just click on the header image to view the post!
Changes To My Tracker:
I don’t use the NaNoWriMo tracker because I don’t like it. Also, I live for this website called Pacemaker.press which is literally the best writing tracker on the internet.
So recently I’ve made changes to my goals on this tracker.
Previously, as seen in my past NaNo update posts, most specifically week 2, I had my goal set to 50,000 by the end of November, which meant at this point, I would be writing 2-4k a day in order to reach this goal. This is totally unachievable for me.
I had two choices to make:
- Lower the overall goal of my tracker from 50k to a more achievable 30k; or
- Extend the timeframe to meet my 50k word count from November 30 to December 31.
I went for choice 2.
This essentially means that I maintain the same goal with a 31-day extension on completion and hopes that I will actually finish it before the new deadline.
With these new changes, I will be writing 600-1,000 words a day in order to reach 50k by the end of the year (December 31). This may not necessarily mean that my book will be complete, but it will be a goal I have never ever reached before, especially in such a time frame.
*No changes have been made to my manual personal tracker.
Progress Report!
This progress update will take off from the Week 2 Update post which I posted a week ago. I will be showing analytics from the 16th to the 22nd of November only, previous data can be found in the first and second update posts.
Once again, the first image is my – now updated – dashboard from Pacemaker, showing the number of words written (green) and what I have to do to reach 50k (blue). The high peaks are approximately 1,000 words and the low ones 600 words, as previously mentioned.
The second table is from my own tracker which shows three numerical columns. The first two being estimated daily and estimated total word counts; the last one being actual accumulated word count. Essentially, just focus on the last column.
Current Word Count: 19,762
Tonight’s goal: 20.5k
How is your NaNo WIP going? Good luck if you are also participating in NaNo this year and always be proud of your work, no matter what it is, you can learn from it!
Brb going to write now and reach 20k tonight! xxx
