Heyo Bookaholics!
My TBR is at least 30% Historical Fiction!
Books set in the past are something I don’t venture into much unless they’re placed on my doorstep. Literally. Every book you see in this post has been sent to me by Allen and Unwin and I am so grateful that they have crossed my path.
If you are keeping up with the #FinnFuryRevolution Instagram book tag, then you might know that the title for this post was the prompt for the 19th of January, but I have chosen to replace today’s (21/1) prompt: French Revolution | Red, White and Blue as I could not for the life of me think of something to write about that topic.
The four books that take place in various decades are as follows:
- Into The World by Stephanie Parkyn,
- To Capture What We Cannot Keep by Beatrice Colin
- The Fifth Avenue Artists Society by Joy Callaway
- The Last Hours by Minette Walters
My two favourites:
To Capture What We Cannot Keep by Beatrice Colin – I loved this book for its romance story and historic elements, which included the construction of the Eifel Tower. I am a little averse to romance books, but with a little history that grounds the story, I fell in love!
The Fifth Avenue Artists Society by Joy Callaway – This novel killed me! The drama! The downgrading of females and their arts, a stark contrast to the underground scene that let artists mingle with each other and be the community that they should be. The crime. The love, and the loss that coursed through this book, it’s a wonderful thrilling read.
What historical fiction books are on your TBR? I actually love coming across these books randomly because just choosing one is far too hard!
What are your favourite books that are set in the past??
