Welcome to my star-rating page!

Below are the stars used in my rating scale which is present in all of my Monday review posts, and how I define them ♡

All books are rated out of 5 stars.

★★★★★

5 Stars: This book has caused me much (good) grief and gave me a mad case of the feels. I couldn’t speak, move or even put this book down at all and probably read it all in either one day or many because I didn’t want it to end! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who asks and it is probably written by Cassandra Clare OR it’s queer fantasy!

★★★★☆

4 Stars: I really liked this book. I probably curled up in a ball of feels and had a mini cry. Maybe I gave the book a hug. Maybe I recommended it one too many times, but I’ll certainly remember this one.

3.5/3.75 Stars: These books are not perfect, not completely four stars but I enjoyed them immensely and are probably one (or many) of my comfort reads that I will pick up again and again. Please read the reviews for the books I’ve rated as this because I have heaps of constructive feedback to provide.

★★★☆☆

3 Stars: This book was pretty good. Some things just didn’t hit the mark and in most cases, the side-premise may have been more perfect than the actual storyline.

★★☆☆☆

2 Stars: I didn’t like this book but I managed to finish it. There were issues with both characters and plot, although something kept me wanting to get to the end.

★☆☆☆☆

1 Star: I hate DNFing novels so I finished this on principal. The premise was great but the execution was lacking.

☆☆☆☆

DNF: If I happen to put a book down it will be shelved as DNFed on my Goodreads with the intention to be picked back up and finished at a later date. I personally don’t like to not finish a novel due to my overbearing curiosity and need to know what is happening.

I will never give a book zero stars. I believe that even though I did not like the book, there will always be someone out there who will. I also believe that giving a book a no-star review is impolite as someone has taken the time to write the book and there is always good to be seen even in the worst of books.
