Wattpad has changed…
So, I was feeling a little nostalgic the other week and started thinking about fanfiction which led me to Wattpad and the old stories I had planned but unwritten sitting in my drafts.
Now, I haven’t written anything in a few weeks. Since the end of April – Camp NaNoWriMo – I took a small break from writing and focused a little more on my BookTube. I just wanted a break from the story so I could get the passion for writing back and not suffer from burnout.
Recently I’ve been feeling the pull to write, which is a wonderful feeling and proof that my little break has worked. I really want to get back to my current WIP, but also to start something new and casual.
This is where Wattpad comes in.
Now, I’ve never been too keen on posting my unedited work anywhere for people to read because frankly, it’s trash. But at the same time, I can’t be effed waiting for my slow ass to finish and edit a novel so people can read it.
Instead, I’ve decided that my next project will be based off of an old fanfic AU idea I had sitting in my drafts (which actually has nothing to do with One Direction at all, thank goodness) and write it on Wattpad to gain real-time feedback from readers.
I am in no way expecting that people will read my work, but I will be putting links out here so if you in any way want to read things I’ve written (don’t expect it to be good), you can find my Wattpad account details below.
You can find a Reading List of all my works throughout the years (from 2014 – now).
Alternatively, you can just click the image on the left, or using this link. Both will take you directly to the list.
I am also creating a book of short stories. I’ll be including all the short stories that I used to post on here as part of the old Storytime Wednesday series before it became exclusively about my WIP and writing projects/ updates.
If you do happen to head on over and check out my account and writings, please leave me a comment on this post to let me know!
One last thing,
Wattpad has changed. When I jumped back on the site a year or so ago, it felt so weird and nothing like the nostalgia I expected when going back.
The entire site looks a lot cleaner. Everything is bright, white and structured. I’m slowly warming up to it but writing on the site is too… how do I put it… not messy enough?
I’m a chaotic person. If you’ve watched my videos or read any one of my posts, you’d know this and I’m sure not many people write directly on the Wattpad site (props to you if you do), I was totally overwhelmed when I tried to.
I do like the new UI. It’s very user-friendly but I think it’s more catered to readers rather than creators considering that it’s just so clunky and weird when trying to actually find your works from the home page. Where did the ‘my works’ button go?
Also, what’s the whole deal with the coin system? I suppose the site is supporting writers and allowing them to earn some coin off of their works which is super cool but was really strange to be confronted with when coming back.
I really want to hold myself to regular updates on the novel that I’m currently writing, titled His Diary and hopefully post parts weekly.
Thank you so much for your love and support xxx
See you back here on Monday’s (book reviews), Wednesday’s (storytime/ writing updates) and Saturday’s (other bookish content).
