NaNoWriMo Progress: Week 1! (SW#41)

Heyo Bookaholics!

What’s the update?

I’m just going to open this post by saying that something happened to the NaNoWriMo Website and I really do not like it. As someone who has a habit of backdating things – this includes forgetting to log my words on the day that I write them – I haven’t figured out

Are you up-to-date?
This is my third NaNoWriMo themed post.
If you’d like to stay up-to-date with everything that’s happening with me this NaNo season, check out the following two posts to make sure you’re all caught up!

The entire month of November will be dedicated to NaNoWriMo themed posts and my writing progress (plus some Korea content), as well as constant uploads on my YouTube channel!

Back to the NaNo website…

If I don’t use the NaNo website, then what do I use??
A while ago I wanted something, a place where I was able to keep track of my writing progress to keep me accountable for my writing and I found this website called Pacemaker.
I found the name on a Tumblr screenshot and let me tell you, that googling for this website is a nightmare! It took me upwards of ten minutes and many variations of search terms to find this website, mostly because when you first type in pacemaker to Google, it assumes you’re some health student looking for information on an actual pacemaker.

I love this website and its many functions. Honestly, it’s amazing! Some of the features include suggested daily word estimations (so you don’t have to do your own math), variations on how much work you want to do in the time period (helps if you’re busy during the week and not on weekends) and the graph, table or calendar will either change with your progress or stay static and let you catch up to it.

I am now only logging my progress on the NaNo website weekly. I find Pacemaker so easy to use and the website is simple and easy to navigate. Also, this is not sponsored, I just love this website!

Where Is My WIP at Now??

I currently have almost 7k on my WIP, it is a middle-grade which means that for every one swear word there is a three-word long replacement, which happens fairly often. Other than that, my character is so much fun to write because it’s rambly and she’s only fourteen so she’s learning how to be a young adult (especially in the eyes of her school and parents) and not been seen as a child anymore.

Here’s a screenshot of my tracker on Pacemaker, basically showing the words that I have written (green line) and the words I am yet to write (blue line).

My personal table can be found in my Prepping For NaNo Blog Post!

The second table is my own tracker that I created, just to show how vastly different a personal tracker is from a computer-generated one. Or just to show how optimistic I am… Either or, just focus on the last column; Word Count.

Let me know down in the comments about how your NaNo WIP is progressing!

Once again, a huge good luck to everyone participating in NaNoWriMo this year! Keep writing, keep believing in yourself and whatever happens come December, be proud of what you have accomplished.
