Heyo Bookaholics!
May was hectic!
Wow – I seem to say that a lot – maybe I’m so shocked that I’m somehow more social and accomplished than I think I am. I love these wrap-up posts, it gives me a time to reflect on my bookish escapades and share it with you all!
I posted my TBR for June last week so don’t forget to check that out before you leave. You can click the image below or the text above. It is the second last post with the old header.
I even made an announcement regarding my YouTube channel that is dropping late June; even though I haven’t finished editing the first video…
Books Read In May
I only read two books this month, one was a last minute pick up because I wanted to partake in the YA Room’s Book of The Month!
In May I finished reading Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen which I had been reading all throughout April and was so busy I never even got half way! I also managed to read I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman which was a wonderfully nostalgic book that made my heart swell in ways no other book has.
Book Haul!
This is my favourite part of these Wrap-ups is the book hauls, mostly because I get to take pretty pics of my books all together like they’re friends!
In May I received Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett from Simon and Schuster for a Blog Tour Book Review I participated in on the 4th of June. I was also sent A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Mass from Bloomsbury upon request.
Realising that the small paperback didn’t match my set of the series, I went to QBD and purchased the Exclusive Edition of A Court of Frost and Starlight in hardback with the pretty artistic endpages.
In my QBD shopping spree, I pre-ordered all of Alice Osman’s books to date! These include; Radio Silence, I Was Born For This and Solitare. I’m far too excited for any information on Alice’s next book! I’ve been following her Instagram stories and she’s recently started talking about how she’s ready to start the draft for her next book and I am here for it.
I also picked up LifeL1k3, at the LifeL1k3 Book Launch and had it signed by the legend himself – Jay Kristoff!
Events In May!
I attended two events in May: the YA Room monthly meeting and the LifeL1k3 Book Launch!
- YA Room Monthly Meeting! We had an in-depth discussion about the book of the month, I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman. Hearing all of the questions that Sarah and Alex thought up really made me rethink my reviews and the way I analyse the book.
- LifeL1k3 Book Launch! I have a post on this where I share all the photos from the launch day as well as news on my current WIP which I now have 10,000 words on!
May Book Reviews:
Lastly, I’m going to end with the book reviews I posted in May!
- I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman ★★★★★ (5/5 stars)
- Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen ★★★★☆ (4/5 stars)
I was quite pleased with the quality of the books in May which all received high ratings!

I hope you enjoy LIFEL1K3 – there are a lot of mixed reviews about that one, but I really enjoyed it! 🙂
BTW, first-timer here. 🙂 You have a great voice in your post. You sound so excited about it all, I want to run over and give you ALL the high fives. XD
Ooh I’ve steered clear of all the reviews of LIFEL1K3 so it’s interesting to hear that!
Thank you so so much for reading my post ❤ I want to give you a big hug and yes I get very excited, I’m glad it shows 😊
If you’re anticipating the book, that’s a great way to do it! I’ll have peek back when you’ve finished to see how it went. 😉
Hehe I’ll definitely have a review for it next month hopefully! *fingers crossed*
