Yearly Wrap-Up + Goal Setting

Hey Ho Bookaholics And Humans Alike!

You see, I was originally planning to do a Christmas book haul for my Wednesday post this week, but there has been so much going on I decided to skip it and add my December haul into this yearly wrap-up post.

I expect this post to be long, so without further babble, let’s jump into it!

December (& Christmas) Bookish Haul!

I was lucky enough that in December I acquired a total of 11 books! This is a crazy big haul and I only spent $6. I am so thankful for everyone who bought me books and the publishers who were kind enough to send them to me this month!

All these books (+ a $20 Dymocks gift card) were all given to me as gifts for Christmas by my friends and my amazing boyfriend, who even though he doesn’t like books, went all the way to the largest Dymocks in the city to buy me special books; like the Shadowhunter one, and yes I cried.

The 10th and 11th books I received in December are as above, and both are ARCs sent to me from Bloomsbury publishing and I cannot be more thankful to them for sending me all the books they have this year!

I also received super cute bookish candles and goodies from Tracy (@trufflebooks on insta) and my amazing Boyfriend. Tracy gifted me a Hogwarts keychain from Ink & Wonder store, a Cassandra Clare bookmark, and a candle from Frankly Fictional.

The bottom 3 photos are candles my boyfriend gifted me. Two are from Nook and Burrow and another Candle that is literally the smell of relaxation and I’m nervous to burn it because I fear it will put me to sleep (hehe).

Books I read in December include Nevernight, which took me all of 2017 to read; and Flight Volume 1, a graphic novel I managed to pick up for $6 from The Book Grocer.

Top 5 Books I Read This Year!!!

Yes I keep a list of all the books I read and because I read barely any books this year, the total of books comes to a sad 13.

In ranked order, these are the top 5 books I loved, out of all the books I read in 2017.

  1. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
  2. Begin, End, Begin edited by Danielle Binks
  3. The Things We Promise by J.C. Burke
  4. To Capture What We Cannot Keep by Beatrice Colin
  5. Release by Patrick Ness

I have also linked all of the reviews to these books above.

2017 Book Reviews:

A Big Thank You…

I would like to shout out a massive thank you to my amazing friends, Riley, Tracy, and Patrick who either bought or supplied me with the goods to buy books for Christmas.

Also a massive thank you to my boyfriend because he has remembered the word Shadowhunters and proceeded to buy me the HArDBAcK version of the Shadowhunter flower book and I made me cry happy tears.

And lastly, a huge huge thank you to Allen and Unwin, and Bloomsbury for supplying me with the goods to fuel my book addiction over the past few years and I look forward to working with you both more in the years to come.

                    .

Stay Happy, Healthy, and have a Lovely Week!!

.

Thank You so much for reading and I hope to see you all back here again Monday 🙂
