September/ October Wrap Up

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

I am surprising even myself to say that I have kept up with my blogging schedule in these past few weeks. This exam period has been the absolute worst! I have had my ups and downs and with only one more exam to go, I am more stressed than ever especially because my last one if English Language. It is my most important exam and the one I am least prepared for, as I surprisingly hate English as a subject.

I have a lot of favourites in these past two months. I have accumulated some posts that I want to share with you all, books I enjoyed and books I bought, as well as a couple of announcements, one of which is Instagram related.

Quite sadly I have never ever read the Harry Potter series before this, but I have watched the movies a bagillion times and have heard spoilers upon spoilers about the content from the books that weren’t included in the movies.

So after completing my Harry Potter Book Collection I thought there’s no start the new semester (and the month of July) than to dive into the Wizarding World of Magic!

Just WOW! That’s all I can say for Suzanne Young’s most recent installment in The Program series, The Epidemic…

In my review of The Epidemic by Suzanne Young, I stated that The Epidemic was the second-last book in The Program series, which it isn’t. It is – from what I have found out on Goodreads – the second book in the third-last book that has been published in the series. There will be two more books to be published as the final installments in the series. These are; The Adjustment and The Complication, and will both be from the point of view of a new character, Tatum, post fall of The Program.

The Adjustment is expected to be released on April 18th 2017 by Simon Pulse and is the third book (chronologically) in the series.

The Lost Knight by Candy Atkins | Review

The Lost Knight Volume 1 by Candy Atkins, is great for fans of Harry Potter and Magnus Chase (I also believe Percy Jackson fans will enjoy this book).

I read an ebook copy of this book and absolutely loved it and everything about it. I was able to relate to Agatha, despite me being almost 5 years older than her, as she was.

The length of the chapters were so perfect! They were long enough to be considered chapters but short enough to make me feel like I was breezing through the book.

I had so much fun reading this book, that I gave it a ★★★★☆ (4/5 stars) on Goodreads, and I would totally recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, dramaless, fantasy novel, where you can discover new and amazing world.

Magnus Chase and The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan | Review

Today I am going to discuss with you all what I thought of the first Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard novel, Magnus Chase and The Sword of summer by Rick Riordan. I did an anticipation post for this over a year ago which was titled; Why I can’t wait to read… – I know cool title right?

It has been a ridiculously long time since I have read Magnus Chase and The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan, the first book in the Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard series, but despite the time frame, I still remember how I felt reading this amazing book, due to its lasting impact it has had on me.

After becoming super obsessed with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially Thor and Loki – who are played by the fabulous Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston respectively – I started researching Norse Mythology as we had touched on it briefly in school and I had read up on some myths and legends on Tumblr. As I became further invested into Norse Mythology and some other mythologies I turned to Rick Riordan – who’s books I shamefully have never read – and saw that he was releasing a novel based on Norse Mythology called Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard, which I knew I just had to read.

Being the first ever Rick Riordan book I have ever read – sad? I know right – I had super high expectations, and trust me I was NOT disappointed!

Magnus Chase and The Sword of Summer is the first book in another one of Rick Riordan’s epic series which does feature one character from his Percy Jackson and The Olympians series – although I am not going to mention who – I will say that this person is a relative of Magnus’s and you DO NOT need to have read any of Rick’s books prior to picking up this one. As I said previously, I haven’t and I still had an enjoyable reading experience.

I borrowed the Australian paperback edition from a friend of mine – and a mad Percy Jackson fan. I treated this book like it was gold. And it certainly looked like it…
