New Author I Found In 2018!

Heyo Bookaholics! 2018 Was A Brilliant Reading Year! This post is for Day 24 of #FinnFuryRevolution. I haven't given enough credit to myself about my reading habits of 2018. I read novels from a lot of new authors, including the two I am going to talk about in this post. I have mentioned previously…

Tin Heart Book Launch!!!

Heyo Bookaholics!

Last night I attended the book launch for Tin Heart by Shivaun Plozza. The event was located at Dymocks in Melbourne’s City, and hosted by Allen & Unwin and Inside a Dog – who are responsible for The Inky Awards of which the longlists have already been released.

It was such an amazing night! There was lots of laughter, chatter, and socialisation especially on my part.

Melanie Schubert Author Interview

Melanie Schubert Author Interview

Heyo Bookaholics!

Before I start I would love to thank Melanie for being so wonderful as to answer some questions for me about her first novel Gregory and The Grimbockle. Melanie has been so open, and I feel like I have learnt more about her as not just an author but as a person and what she has been through to get to where she is today (and you will to by reading this Q&A).

I posted a review of Gregory and the Grimbockle, and can be accessed here, if you would like to read it before reading this Q&A.

I would also like to point out that this Q&A is spoiler free, though I would recommend everyone go read Melanie’s first ever novel! It can be purchased at The Book Depository or in-store.

I received the book direct from the Author in return for an honest review. This post is not sponsored, all opinions are my own, and passages from the book referenced will be quoted. Massive thanks to the Author Melanie Schubert for this opportunity.

Heyo Bookaholics!

It seems like it’s been forever since my last book review with all the wrap-up, haul, TBR and New Years posts that have been consuming my blog; although I really loved to share all of that with you guys, I’m glad to be reviewing again!

gregory and the grimbockle book cover - Gregory & The Grimbockle By Melanie Schubert | Review

Goodreads Summary:

Ten-year-old Gregory is about to find out that the enormous mole stuck straight beneath his nose is not just a mole, but is actually a humpy crumpy portal of skin that hides a creature called the Grimbockle.

What’s more? The Grimbockle is just one of the many strange little creatures called Bockles tending to the mysterious threads that connect all humans from one to the other. It is a very important job and one that has long been carried out with incredible secrecy…

…that is, before tonight.

Goodreads Review

The only home Riga Garrison has ever known is the Tunnel, a subterranean research facility buried deep beneath Antarctica’s ice and snow.

Yet, while a safe haven for the last outpost of humanity governed by the Initiate, it is also home to a secret so dark that they will risk anything to protect it.

Surrounded by deceit and faced with exile to a frozen wasteland, Riga must defy not only the Initiate’s top biologists and loyalists but also her own mother, in an attempt to unearth the truth.
