Hey Ho Bookaholics!
A perfect companion to Lauren Oliver’s bestselling Delirium trilogy, The Book of Shhh expands on excerpts included in the original series. Lauren Oliver delves deeper into the world created in the Delirium trilogy and provides fans with an in-depth look at the terrifying society that her characters live in. This free novella includes case studies, exercises, invocations, quotes, proverbs, and detailed information on amor deliria nervosa.
The Book of Shhh, or the Safety, Health, and Happiness Handbook, describes the perils of amor deliria nervosa. In today’s society, thanks to the cure and its enforcement, our citizens are more productive and committed to their jobs, political organizations, and social impact than ever before. The following excerpts are meant to give portability to a small portion of its materials so that elements of its wisdom may be available for reference on the go.
Do not rely on the following excerpts to diagnose, treat, or address evidence of amor deliria nervosa. Should you believe that you or someone in your family might be infected, call the National Health Services hotline immediately, or seek the care of a professional physician at once.

When I received the email that Lauren Oliver was releasing an eBook companion to the Delirium series I immediately went to download it – even quicker because it was free! As soon as this book was announced it was in my iBooks library and I have no regrets.
It has taken me a while to read this book for two reasons:
1. It is an eBook (on my phone) hence harder to read and I’m less likely to read eBooks because of the strain on my eyes from reading off such a small screen.
2. This small handbook is at best informative and at worst highly influential; it’s the type of dicourse that makes me want to write a counter-argument to explain why they’re wrong and just attack them. This content made me so angry inside that I had to stop reading it just to calm down and remind myself that it is all a work of fiction. I would’ve let my anger out in a long winded rant if I was any good with words, but I’m not so my anger at this deluded government just bubbled up and up.
Sometimes I wondered if Lauren actually believed the stuff she was writing, then other times, when she described the signs, symptoms and effects of Armor Deliria Nervosa (ADN), it seemed as if she was drawing apon her own experiences with love and in a way diagnosing herself with ADN.
I gave this book a ★★★★★ (5/5 stars) on Goodreads and though the above review may seem somewhat on the negative side, I really enjoyed every second I was reading this book, as much as one could enjoy reading an informative document. This handbook was enjoyable to read because it included references from modern literature which I could pick out and relate to. In addition to being enjoyable to read, was that the book was free to download.
I absolutly love companion books (mostly paperbacks but I’ll take what I can) to my favourite series, especially factual books like this one, because it gives you a better insight into what kind of media the characters were exposed through over the course of the trilogy and makes you better understand why they made the choises they made.
Overall, I quite enjoyed the ride this handbook took me on and it was amazing how a fictional goverment can created to seem so real when certain views are expressed in a formal document. I wasn’t getting mad at Lauren herslef rather the ‘government’ who wrote the handbook. It takes true tallent to make the reader think that the writers of the book are a separate entity to the true author of the story.
Thank You so much for reading and I hope to see you all back here again Saturday 🙂
