Welcome back to another Storytime Wednesday! Of those of you that follow me on Instagram probably know, yesterday was an amazing day for me. Throughout the whole day, my spirits were high and I felt like I was walking on the softest clouds all day. There was a buzz inside of me that didn’t want to be calmed down, and I thought of how I couldn’t relate to any book character, as not many of them are upbeat, rather troubled and always going through some sort of struggle.
Uni work and emotions have been dulling my mood lately and recently, I have been learning to appreciate and see value in the little things in life. So when I finally did, it felt like a breath of fresh air to have a day where I totally appreciated the world.
It was really the little things that made my day really amazing, such as;
- The lack of traffic on the road even though I was driving during peak hour
- A car trip that previously took me an hour took 40 minutes
- Spending the day chilling with someone special
- Arriving home before curfew even though I left at the last minute and nearly go lost on the road
- Not having an argument with my mother
- Completing and submitting a weekly task for uni, in an hour, without issues
- Buying clothes online
It really felt like I was buzzing and I didn’t want to slow down, but as the day drew to a close I knew I had to wind down and get ready for the next day; so I captured all my excitement in my journal where it stays as a reminder that I can be happy, and life really isn’t all that bad or difficult, even when it may seem that way.
In the wake of my reading slump-ish, I’ve been committing more time than usual to my journal and it has been paying off. Here are some of my favourite pages from my second journal which I hope to have mostly finished by the end of this year.
Printed Cassandra Jean's drawing of Ty and Kit + my best friend write the Blckthorn family motto using a caligraphy brush.
Tickets and recount of the Gemina Book Signing - my favourite event of 2016.
A page covered in Christmas wrapping + some mess.
Glued down an envelope to put movie tickets receipts etc. in because I am very setimental and extra.
Stay Happy, Healthy, and have a Lovely Week!!
Thank You so much for reading and I hope to see you all back here Saturday with a Book Tag 🙂
