Hello Bookaholics!
I have received some aethetically pleasing books from Allen & Uniwn over the past few months that I am yet to read and I have found this book tag that allows me to show off these books and some of my own!
I found this tag on the DreamlandBookBlog (where I find many of the tags I complete); though it was created by Book Syrup on YouTube. A link to the original can be found here.
1. Best colour combo on a book cover
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
Where all the Harry Potter covers are absolutle works of art, this is by far the bsst one.
Blue is such a pretty, calming colour, most commonly used colour on book covers but this is by far the best combination of blues used on any cover.
2. Best typography/font on a book cover
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
My all time favourite book has a beautiful font that could make the word ‘death’ look terrifyingly beautiful.
3. Best simple cover
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige
A very minimal and simplistic cover, that still incorporates the main element of the story as well as the all important title.
4. Best endpages
We All Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
Deer. Powerful majestic creatures to start and end a book with a powerful meaning.
5. Best map
The Lord of The Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien
Just look at this beauty!
6. Best naked hardback
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
Where every other hardback is usually black under the jacket with the title in gold on the spine; this book has been taken to the next level by adding symbols to the usually blank cover. The combination of gold and red os absolutely stunning.
7. Best back cover
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
This is an ARC I received from Bloomsbury months ago and I don’t think the back cover of any of my books are aesthetically pleasing, but I chose this one due to the quote it has on the back and who wrote it.
8. Best chapter headers
The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
Very simple but also quite magical. Truly nothing more to say.
9. Best illustrations
Gemina written by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman; and illustrated by the talented Marie Lu.
I know I’ve said this for a few of these, but these illustrations are very beautiful and I truly did not know that Marie Lu was a very talented artist.
10. Best spine
The River of No Return by Bee Ridgeway
I snagged this bargain from The Book Grocer for $2 due to a small tear in the dust jacket as a result of a sticker.
I the blue banner on a plain white background looks beautiful sitting there on my shelf amongst all the other boring spines.
11. Favourite cover on your shelves
Lady Midnight (Exclusive Signed Edition) by the Queen, Cassandra Clare
The photo does not do this cover any justice!
