BWC Readathon Wrap-Up: Reading Progress + Creative Challenges!

BWC Readathon Wrap-Up: Reading Progress + Creative Challenges!

Hai Beautiful!

Success is a lie!

Okay, so that intro line may be a little harsh. I consistently set super high standards for myself without learning each and every time and consistently failing, it’s hard to believe in success.

Let me backtrack…

I participated in the second round of the Because We Can Readathon; Travel Edition, last week. It is always a fun time to be creative, release daily videos and try (and fail) to read books for all the prompts!

If this is the first you are hearing of the readathon, be sure to check out their socials on TwitterInstagram and most importantly, the YouTube channel, so you can look out for when they hold the next week-long readathon.

Now you’re all caught up!

I posted my October & BWC Readathon TBR on my YouTube channel and an updated Readathon TBR here on my blog in which I am (based on past experience) very optimistic with my goals.

The main two books I had expected to get to in the week were:
* The Mermaid, The Witch and The Sea by Maggie Tokuda-Hall
* TrueLife by Jay Kristoff

I don’t really know what I expected from myself when I promised to read more than one book and upload daily videos in the week, but alas I had high hopes.

What I Read…

Honestly, I am not really too mad at my progress. I manage to make it through an extremely hard week and read a wonderful novel that honestly might be a huge contender for the best book/ new release of 2020!

I managed to finish The Mermaid, The Witch and The Sea by Maggie Tokuda-Hall and OH MY GOSH THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!

It is fantastical, queer, beautiful and every other wonderful word I could ever come up with that would never do it justice. I’m pretty sure I will be recommending this book to everyone I know from now on (alongside Once & Future of course!) because it is that good!

A review will be up next Monday 2nd of November for this book, although I don’t really know a way I can talk about it that will do it the justice this novel deserves. When I say it is a perfect book. I mean it is a perfect book!

In other reading news!

I have now started TrueLife by Jay Kristoff – the last book in the LifeLike series – and will hopefully finish it by the end of the month (fingers crossed!).

I also don’t expect to get to The Lost Book Of White by Cassandra Clare & Wesley Chu this month, which means it might be the only book on my November TBR since I want to read it before the end of the year.

My Creative Challenge Videos!

I’ve linked below the playlist where I compile all of my creative challenge submissions for the readathon. This way you can enjoy the videos from the first and second rounds of the readathon in one place!

I had so much fun putting this post together! I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did reflecting on the week that was.
