Can you all make out who is in the photo tacked onto the door? If you said The Fat Lady from Harry Potter, you are correct! No one knows who put her there (probably our teachers) but The Fat Lady greets us every morning when we walk through the door into our classroom; until one day when she mysteriously disappeared and never came back. Quite sad actually.
To remember The Fat Lady, she will represent my favourite fandom – second to the Marvel fandom of course – in FANDOM FAVS!
The book presented is The Amber Spyglass, the third installment in the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman, the series I spoke about in one of my previous posts.
This chapter titled ‘The Dunes’ brought tears to my eyes as it spoke of young love forbidden for two of the most purest and bravest souls. It illustrated the newfound love between Lyra and Will, although anticipated, warmed my heart when their feelings were expressed and understood. Their love, passion and determination to be together, is beautifully summed up by the quote above;
“My soul, do not seek eternal life, but exhaust the realm of possible.”
– Pinder
I am a true believer in the phrase; Break a readers heart, shock them, scare them, and make them cry. They will never forgive you but they will also never forget you.
