I’m all about planning!
I think it’s been a trend this week for me to post everything a day later than scheduled, which is very in character for me might I add, and today will be no different!
As you’d know by now I am writing a book titled The Inversion. For those of you are unaware or do not follow my updates on Twitter (@thebookishbree) I am trying to write a book of which I currently have 24,000 words!
My plan is to have the first draft of this novel (mostly) finished by the end of the year so I’ve set myself a goal of reaching 60,000 words by December 31st 2018. To achieve this I’ve devised the following plan:
September: I will write 2,500 words a week to achieve a total of 30,000 by the end of the month.
October: I will write 2,500 words a week to achieve a total of 40,000 by the end of the month.
November: I will write 2,500 words a week to achieve a total of 50,000 by the end of the month.
December: I will write 2,500 words a week to achieve a total of 60,000 by the end of the month.
This is only the first part of my plan. The second part is to make time for myself to write during my busy schedule around work, blogging, YouTube editing, etc. there will be no way for me to finish this novel if I don’t schedule in time for it.
The biggest thing about planning is to make time to carry out your plan!
I know that this may not seem ambitious for many of my readers, and I know people who can write a novel in a month, but I am not like that. This will be a major challenge for me and something I wish to get through in hopes to be able to hold the finished copy in my hand in the New Year!
I’ll keep you all updated in my wrap-ups and with writing update posts and videos both on this blog and my YouTube channel respectively x
Are you writing anything? or planning towards completing another project? I’d love to hear about it and start a discussion in the comments!
With Love Bree xx
