Goodreads Book Tag!

Goodreads Book Tag!

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

What book lover doesn’t love Goodreads?? It’s so easy to use and is a great platform to converse with other book lovers and bloggers, and make new friends! I like to use Goodreads to keep track of the books I read and coverse with friends; but it can be sed for so so much more.

On Paperback Bri‘s blog, she said that ‘the Goodreads Tag was created by Kayla @ Spiral Bookmark but the original video seems to be have been deleted.’ So I would like to extend a thank you to Kayla for craeting the tag.

What was the last book you marked as read?

The lasy book I finished, only a few days ago, was Magnus Chase and The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan, the second book in the Magnus Chase and The Gosds of Asgard trilogy. I absolutly loved this book! if anything, I found it more interesting than the first book and that’s saying something, because vary rarely are sequels more interesting than the first books. My next post on Monday (20th) will be a review of this book, so don’t miss it!

What are you currently reading?third time lucky cover 1 - Goodreads Book Tag!

Currently, I’m reading only one book which was sent to me by Allen & Unwin only last week. I will have a review for this book in two weeks time after its release date on the 23rd of November. Since I have alot of time how, I am sticking to reading only one book at a time and really engaging myself in that one book, instead of just rushing though books to meet a number goal.

trapped in silver cover - Goodreads Book Tag!What was the last book you marked as to read?

The last book I marked as to read was Trapped in Silver by Emily Snowden. I’ve been asked by OfTomes publishing to read and review this book which is released on 7th Feburary next year. I’m dying to start this book so much! People on Goodreads have likened the writing style to Sarah J. Mass which must be high praise considering all the hype around her books (I haven’t read any yet)

What book do you plan to read next?

Uhh… My next read would probably be Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. I was going to read this one now, but I just wasn’t feeling it so I read a romance instead.

Do you use the star rating system?

Yes! I love rating books. I love the feeling of marking a book as finished on Godreads, then seeing the ratings pop up so I can tell the community what I thought of the book. It also helps me express my opinion of the book if no one reads my reviews. I use the star rating system on my blog too. It is quite helpful.

Are you doing a reading challenge?

Yes. At least I think I am. I’ve set my Goodreads goal to 50 books because I wasn’t able to read alot this year, but the book I marked as read at the start of the year messed up the dates I read them. Lucky I keep a manual log of my reading and I’m currently at 48 books inculding novellas (because their books too, just of a different size), but not including 3 volumes of a comic series.

Do you have a wishlist?

I do have a wishlist – on Book Depository and Amazon – which doesn’t really act as a typical wishlist but a place where I store all the books I hope to read but probably never buy. Though I do delete the books off the list that I have bought.

What book do you plan to buy next?

Damn! I think the next books I really want to buy is the Percy Jackson Box Set from The Book Depository, so I can finally get to reading the series.

Though I really do want to buy A History of Notable Shadowhunters from Topacto (because it’s cooler than the black UK edition), and the Shadowhunter tarrot cards because I’m Shadowhunter trash.

But I really really want to buy Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Origional Screenplay from The Book Depository so I can finish my Harry Potter collection, and it looks so beatiful *heart eyes emoji*

Do you have any favourite quotes? Would you like to share a few?

I’m going to take it easy with the Shadowhunters quotes and only put in 3, although there is one exchange between Simon and Magnus that is my favourite, but I don’t know it woord for word.

  • “Make it lovely.” and “We do not remember days, we remember moments.” All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
  • “I wake up thinking of yesterday. The joy is in remembering; the pain is in knowing it was yesterday.” Every Day by David Levithan
  • “this is why we call people exes, I guess – because the paths that cross in the middle end up separating at the end. it’s too easy to see an X as a cross-out. it’s not, because there’s no way to cross out something like that. the X is a diagram of two paths.” Will Grayson, Will Grayson by David Levithan

Who are your favourite authors?

  • Rick Riordan
  • Cassandra Clare
  • David Levithan
  • James Dashner
  • Amie Kaufman
  • Jay Kristoff                                                                                                                                           and more that I can’t think of at the moment because I have horrible memory.

Have you joined any groups?

What do you think Goodreads could do better?

Serching for other user profiles. Especially in the app.

I Tag:

I usually don’t tag people in these, but I enjoyed doing this and I think that others will too.  I tag Page Pixies and Bibliophilic Med Student to do this tag.
