I bought more Books!! (September edition)

Welcome back  Bookaholics!

This post, as the title suggests is going to be all about the books I purchased this September, and in the last few days of August, because I have somehow accumulated more than usual.

This is my second post in two days! Wow, you guys are lucky. I hope you all liked the Asgardian Book Tag I created for the upcoming Magnus Chase novel, which was posted yesterday. I would love if you all took the time to do the tag – or even just have a look through it. I’d also like to apologise for the weird timing of this post as it is deviating from my usual Monday posting time of 4:00. I hope you can forgive me. Now that my little babble is over, without further ado, let’s dive into my September Book Haul!

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon + The River of No Return by Bee Ridgway

At the end of August, I purchased two books from The Book Grocer;

  • The River of No Return by Bee Ridgway, and
  • The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

I was quite lucky to find both of these books in Hardback as they are quite a rarity in in bookstores where I live.

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

The Bone Season was on my September/ October TBR and I am nearly finished it, but DAMN! I need the sequel asap because I am actually IN LOVE with this book. I will not be doing a review for this book as I have some other upcoming reviews for ARCs and review copies to be posted in October.

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

The third book I purchased in September was All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, which I found at Kmart for $9. I’ve seen the hardcover around on many BookTube channels, but I really love this beautiful cover. It’s bright and the book is super floppy, making it really easy to read.

The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

The fourth book I acquired this month was The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness, and if you follow me on Instagram (@jasperandspice) you will know how excited I was when my mum bought this for me because I posted a pretty long – and crazy – Instagram story unbagging the book and showing everyone the inside and outside of this book. As the sticker says, it contains and exclusive print inside the back of the book which feels like a postcard and has Ness’s signature on it. The book also came with this bookmark and no dust jacket!

The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

And lastly, when I met up with my cousin who I hadn’t seen in a long time, we ended up at yet another Kmart – If you cannot tell by now; I love Kmart! I surprisingly found The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee for $10 in the UK/Australian cover which is quite beautiful but I also wish to acquire the US hardback edition as it is waaaay cooler!

So those were the five books I acquired during the month of September and which I probably won’t read until next year; but OH WELL!

See you next Saturday 🙂
