Yearly Wrap-Up, School Stories + Book Hauls!

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

I want to start this yearly wrap-up by firstly wrapping up the most recent month of December, where I only read one and a half of the books I planned to read in my Summer TBR post. This post will include, school stories; Highlight of the Year; All the Books I Hauled in 2016; My Favourite Books I bought and read in 2016; My favorite posts on Jasper + Spice from this year; as well as my blog journey this year and thank you’s!

Without further ado, let’s get on with this post because it is going to be a very very very long one, and I don’t want you to miss a single word of it.

December Wrap-up:

This month I accidently picked up the Saga comics from the library and just happened to read Volumes 1 through to 4, deviating from my planned December TBR.

Okay, maybe this wasn’t so accidental. This month, Jenaire from abooktopia.weebly and I were doing a read along of the Shiver Chronicles by Maggie Stiefvater, which didn’t go as planned. I read Shiver slower than usual as it disinterested me and I felt the story to be quite slow and there was more romance than fantasy.

I also picked up the comic book A Long Walk To Valhalla from my local library which I read in an hour and it made me feel so many things.

This month I received two books for review: The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon, sent to me from Bloomsbury; and To Remember What We Cannot Keep by Beatrice Colin, sent to me by Allen & Unwin.

This month I only purchased 3 books: Penny Dreadfuls a collection of Horror stories from The Book Grocer for $6; The Winner’s Curse and The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski, from Dymocks Melbourne.

Lastly I received a Canon eos 700D camera from my parents as an early 18th birthday present.

Not shown in the photo is a paperback copy of Nevernight by Jay Kristoff in the UK cover, a late Christmas present from my best friend!

School Stories:

Well, as you are all aware of by now, I finished high school this year and it was the damn craziest and stressful year of my whole entire life. For a person who is so unemotional and never cries, I did more crying in this one year than I ever remember doing in 10 years.

My high school loves to subject us students to a bunch of annoying and pointless assemblies that are the most perfect time to write down to-do lists, draft blog posts, or even finish of homework and quizzes that are to be handed in during the next period. I’ve only done the latter twice, and it proved to be very beneficial for me.

For anyone compleating year 12 next year, or going into VCE, I would like to wish you all the best and if you ever need to talk to or rant to someone I will be here.

Highlight of The Year:

img 6018 - Yearly Wrap-Up, School Stories + Book Hauls! This year I went to my first ever book signing for Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman shown with me on the left.

I wrote all about this event in the post Gemina Book Launch and Signing

Please go check out the post as it was the most managing thing I did all year and my fist ever book signing!

The Blog Story of 2016 and Thank You’s:

With this year being the craziest ever, it still didn’t stop me from setting my blog up for a long term future and planning future endevours; if anything, the busyness made me more motivated to build my blog into something I am now proud of.

This year I have gained 65 more followers, and posted 64 more posts. This year I have made a few changes to my blog. I’ve altered the background colour and added a new headder to the site, as well as changed up thepost headders, making them bright and consistant.

I would like to say a ginormous Thank You to everyone who has vistited and follwoed my site, liked/ commented on my photos and had a chat with me thoughout the years that I have ran this blog. Every little comment, like, follow, view, private message, increases my confidence in myself exponentially, and for that I would love to Thank You!

I run this blog because reading is what makes me happy and combining that with my weakness – English – I feel that I can make my writing improve, which it has, and I can proudly say that I scored highest in English out of all of y subjects this year in VCE. So Thank You again!

I though this blog was all for me. To justrant about books, but now, having readers and writing this to all of you, I realise that I’m doing this for more than just me; I’m doing this for all of you readers and curious buttons out there, and for that I thank you again

THANK YOU!!!!

This one is for you all, Peggy and Jarvis are looking towards the new year and see it is bright and oportunistic for all of you. May the New Year bring you everything you wish for and way more!
